Character

Name:
Guybrush Ulysses Threepwood
Fandom: Monkey Island
Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guybrush_Threepwood
Referred by: Myself?
Desired Age: Somewhere between eighteen and twenty-two. He doesn't say, but looks older than he actually is.
Desired PB: Beck Hansen

High Quality Image:

Desired Supplant: No preference~ Surprise me.
Desired Job: Comic artist for the Sunday paper. Has/had a day job, looking for something else to supplement his income.
Sexual Orientation: Straight

Appearance: Blond hair (Possibly dyed brown at times), blue eyes, and a kind of gangly awkwardness that speaks volumes. He usually wears semi-formal attire, but it's not rare to catch him dressed casually. Or donning old, worn-out, or ratty clothing. His hair is usually messy and curly, although when he remembers to, he's clean-shaven and not so ratty-looking. As for his body itself, it's probably a bit worn from being... A pirate... But due to Harmony, he can't remember that.
Personality: Generally very easygoing, able to adapt to quite a lot very quickly. He takes things in stride and is not the kind to really get hung up on something. Bubbly and personable, if a bit on the slow side at times, he's high-energy. When at a loss for words or embarrassed, he generally begins to choke out "word vomit", or random sounds mashed together. ... And he has the knack for making use of most everything he can find (for its intended use or otherwise), as well as shoving them down his pants without disgression. Apparently, he boasts, once he fit a frying pan down there. If asked how, he'll skirt around the question.

History: Guybrush Threepwood, mighty Pirate! Through the first game, his main quest is to, indeed, become a pirate. He's put through various quests in the Tri-island area of the Caribbean, and while on Melee Island (Where he was to steal something from the governor's mansion) he meets and falls in (rather mouth-spazzy) love with... Governor Marley. However, Guy's affections are shared by another pirate. The undead ghost-pirate Charles LeChuck. He kidnaps Eliane, which sends Guybrush on a quest to get a crew and rescue the governor- if he can rouse up a crew and get a ship.

Needless to say, he does. They go to Monkey Island and are captured by cannibals (That don't eat people. They're watching their cholesterol.) - and as Guybrush uses his genuis skills to escape, he finds himself up the creek without a paddle- and returns to the cannibals, asking for help. In exchange for having to carry around a head (that speaks), he finds LeChuck's ghost crew and brings a root back to the cannibal tribe. They make their "fermented root potion" (which we know as root beer) and give it to Guybrush- which he uses to kill the ghosts and eventually stop LeChuck.

During the course of the second game, Guybrush (who is a pirate now) quests to find the Big Whoop- and LeChuck finds it before, which transforms him into a zombie and ghostly-form of himself. It's also revealed that LeChuck may or may not be Guybrush's brother, as seen by a rather surrealistic second part of the game that ends with the two younger boys being shown at a playground, in a pirate fantasy.

Later still, Guybrush plans to marry Eliane after finding a ring- but it was cursed, therefore turning Marley into a statue of solid gold. She's kidnapped by LeChuck (again), and Guybrush thwarts him (again). After Eliane is turned back into a human, the two get married.

Their honeymoon is never discussed, but apparently Eliane was pronounced dead on the islands, ending her term as govorner. So she fights to get the title back, while Guybrush battles an Australian buying up real estate on the islands and LeChuck, returned from the dead again. The prize this time is the Ultimate Insult- something so soul-shattering that it breaks the very soul of a person. Ozzie and LeChuck find this first, but LeChuck destroys it along with Ozzie Mandrill and himself. It would seem that Guybrush and Eliane lived happily after that, but MI5 never came out.

In-Game History: Technically an orphan- while both of his parents are alive and still live in Harmony, he was put up for adoption at a young age and ended up staying there until he was released. He submitted a drawing to the Harmony Times and became an illustrator of a comic strip in the Sunday paper for them, earning himself enough cash to get a footing on his own. He was also recently fired from his day-job and looking for work, where available- as well as doing various odd jobs around the town whenever the opportunity comes up. It wouldn't be too difficult to imagine passing the scruffy-looking man on the street many times and never noticing him.

He knows he's a bit off-kilter and recognizes this- as well as admitting that "When other kids wanted to become superheroes, I always wanted to be a pirate!"
